Environment and Application Hibernation in C3 AI Studio
The Hibernation page provides an overview of hibernation settings for applications and environments in a C3 AI Studio cluster. Hibernation reduces resource use by scaling down environments and applications when they are idle. Only users with the StudioAdmin role can configure hibernation.
This page contains three tabs:
For additional guidance on configuring and managing hibernation schedules, see Hibernate Environments and Applications.
Single-node environments tab
The Single-node Environments tab lists environments that run on a single node in the studio cluster. It contains three sections:
Header section: Provides statistics for all single-node environments.
- Number of single-node environments
- Auto Hibernation: Count with hibernation enabled
- No hibernation: Count without hibernation
- Currently excluded: Count excluded from hibernation
Filter panel: Lets you filter the list of environments by hibernation date, exclusion date, or environment owner.
- Select Filter to apply filters.
- Select Clear All to reset filters.
Environments list: Shows environment details in a table. Select the expand icon for an environment to view its applications Each item includes the following columns:
- Environment: Environment name
- Hibernation after: Idle time before hibernation
- Owner: Creator of the environment
- Exclusion: Hibernation exclusion timeframe
Multi-node applications tab
The Multi-node Applications tab lists applications that run on multiple nodes. It contains three sections:
Header section: Provides statistics for all multi-node applications.
- Number of multi-node applications
- Hibernation enabled: Count with hibernation enabled
- No hibernation: Count without hibernation
- Currently excluded: Count excluded from hibernation
Filter panel: Lets you filter the list of applications by hibernation setting, exclusion date, or application owner.
- Select Filter to apply filters.
- Select Clear All to reset filters.
Applications list: Shows application details in a table. Columns include:
- Application: Application name
- Environment: Associated environment
- Hibernation setting: Hibernation setting used. This is configured in the Settings tab
- Hibernate at: Scheduled hibernation time
- Owner: Creator of the application
- Exclusion: Exclusion timeframe
Settings tab
The Settings tab defines default hibernation rules for environments and applications that do not have custom settings. It includes:
- Single-node Environment: The default single-node environment hibernation setting. Select the Edit icon to change it.
- Multi-node Application: The default multi-node application hibernation setting. Select the Edit icon to change it.
- Hibernation Schedules for Multi-node Applications: A list of reusable schedules you can apply to multi-node applications.
