Start Your Application Based on a Package and Build from C3 AI Release Management
Note: You must have a multi-node environment (MNE) to start applications based on a build from C3 AI Release Management. If you cannot create a MNE, reach out to your C3 AI Center of Excellence (CoE).
With C3 AI Studio, you can start your start application instances based on a build that exists on C3 AI Release Management.

Set up
To start an application based on a package and build from C3 AI Release Management ensure you have identified the specific build and package you want to use.
To learn more about how to view your available packages and builds, refer to the View Package Builds Within the Branch Build in C3 AI Release Management documentation. This document provides detailed steps on how to access the build and package page to see additional package information.
Before starting an application instance, you must have:
- A registered branch that contains your packages. To learn how to register a branch, see Register, Update, and Delete a Group of Branches documentation.
- A completed build.
Start your application
Create a MNE on C3 AI Studio.
- To create a MNE, go to the homepage and select Create Environment or go to the Environments page and select the plus (+) near the top-right corner. In the form, enter the unique name for the environment and select Multi node environment for the Environment type.
- If you have an error message that says you do not have permission to create a MNE, reach out to your C3 AI CoE to get the required credentials and configurations.
Obtain and copy the package version. To get the package version, go to the package page. See View Package Builds Within the Branch Build in C3 AI Release Management documentation to learn how to access the package page.

On C3 AI Studio, create an application instance.
- To create an application instance, select Create Application, select Start from an existing package, and enter the following fields:
- Environment — Choose the environment that you created at the beginning of the steps.
- Application name — Enter the unique name for your application.
- Package — Select the desired package in the dropdown menu. If you do not see the package, the package may not be available in that cluster. Reach out to the CoE to have the package available in the cluster.
- (In the Advanced Settings) Package Version — Enter (or paste) the package version that you found in Step 2 above.
